Board & train
If you’re struggling with training or behaviour issues and training sessions for an hour once a week are not enough, this program is for you. Think of it as a doggy boot camp. Your dog will stay in a home with a positive reinforcement trainer for the duration of their training. This program fully immerses your dog in training throughout the entire day. They will have structure and ample time to work on their specific needs all while socializing with other dogs.
About the Program
*This program is for adult dogs or dogs who need a little more attention/need to work on more than just the basics.*
Our Board and Train program is a wonderful way to address some of those pesky traits your dog has developed over the years. It provides an opportunity for your dog to relearn more appropriate behaviours when confronted with stimuli that would typically cause them to react in a negative way. Focus is placed on reshaping how your dog views people/animals/places/objects to minimize fear and anxiety that often portrays as aggression or reactivity.
We train with 100% positive reinforcement methods which is a reward based system that shapes and reinforces behaviours that you want while eliminating the behaviours you don’t want. We do not use any aversive methods and are completely fear/punishment free.
Duration
Board and Train is available in packages from 2-12 weeks. It is recommended that your dog stay for a minimum of 2 weeks to allow enough time to instill the training and ensure the best outcome.
Expectation
For reactive/fear aggressive dogs a training plan will be customized to the individual dog, taking into consideration the goals of the owners. Keep in mind that the progress of the training is dependent upon the length of stay.
Some examples of typical training focus for reactive dogs:
-Leash reactivity
-Resource guarding/food aggression
-Impulse control
-Socialization
Reminder
It is important to understand that every dog is an individual so there is no guarantee of where they will be at the end of training, but the goal will be to have your dog return home with a more calm, happy, less reactive attitude and the skills to better handle stimuli that would typically cause fear aggression or reactivity.

While in the Board & Train program, your dog will be part of the family. They will be in a home environment and have ample time to play and socialize with our dogs. They will have exposure to normal, everyday stimuli and have the freedom that they wouldn’t typically receive in a kennel facility. We treat your dog like we would our own and ensure that they have lots of love and affection so that they are happy and content while they are away from you.
